hotdogsladies: I don’t speak Hindi, but I’m pretty sure my cabdriver is either securing financing for a startup or planning to have me whacked.

Trying (yet again) to turn my morning walks into morning runs … so far … I’ve reached the level of morning waddles.
This weekend’s distraction?? iPhone Sketches. http://www.flickr.com/photos/amycgx/sets/72157606392173837/
Google has its “Summer of Code” and Portland seems to be having its “Summer of Cold.” Brrr!!
I need more warning before drum corps march by my house so I can run out and watch in something other than a pink terry robe & wet hair.
forgot to tell my guests about the ice cream sandwiches in the freezer. Uh-oh. Please stop by for ice cream sandwiches. Save me from myself.
It was a frog-hammer of a good night in the backyard. Now, some sleep.
feeling anxious considering what I need to do to prepare myself for a few visitors tonight within the amount of time I have to do it.
There are times when I don’t get why people don’t want to push themselves and try to expand their comfort zone. And then there’s now.
“I hate to break it to you, but when playing the game of Management Willpower vs. Physics, Physics always wins.” #oscon08
Beer & BBQ in the backyard tonight. Please come join the fun! Once it’s dark, we can get out the projector for movies and/or Wii.
Feeling sorry for this poor guy from Microsoft on stage now that the mic is offered up to the audience. #oscon08
Ramji just announced Microsoft’s platinum sponsorship of the Apache Software Foundation. #oscon08
CJ wonders I’d Sam Ramji of Microsoft seems a bit defensive while addressing the Oscon audience. His Firefox t-shirt is a nice touch.
People are complaining about the LOUD background music in this keynote … I assume he’s trying to make a point … we’ll see. #oscon08
Final sessions of #oscon08, then sunshine, then BBQ, then Wii & movies in the backyard.
Glad to be home.
Happy to be reunited with my iPhone at last. After little time with the doggy, I’m going to go try to be social at an #oscon08 party.
last #oscon08 session of the day was fantastic. NPR discussed their newly released API, see NPR Tech Center: http://www.npr.org/api/index
Sounds like I missed a lot of hoopla and mayhem in the last part of the Perl lightning talks, but I’m 100% certain that it was worth it.
“Who would have guessed that the guys with the pocket protectors would turn out to be the ones with the right stuff?” LA Times #oscon08
“The best weapon of a dictatorship is secrecy. The best weapon of a democracy *should be* the weapon of openness.” Niels Bohr #oscon08
I’m compelled to braid the ponytail directly in front of me. #oscon08 (don’t worry, I’ll refrain.)
Interesting session about OpenID with @kveton & co.
I grew tired of pizza a while ago and would much rather have tacos delivered on demand.
#oscon08 so far = quite good. More to say, but my brain is too tired to extract the essence, which, of course, is exactly 140 characters.
WTF? Why is is so cold out here?
after a walk down the road for tacos. I’ve decided to dub the area between Hawthorne & Division, “Garage Band Town.” 10 blocks, 7 bands.
at #oscon08 without my iPhone. not really sure how I’m going to survive.
“Bullshitters get along too well in the world.” -Helsinki Complaints Choir #oscon08
“Every one of you, unless you’re a pervert, should volunteer at your local school” -Nat Torkington #oscon08
listening to a beautiful African voice, which is such a welcome break from the jolting valley girl programmer who spoke earlier.
“art of community” lightning talks at #oscon08
“If you want something to happen, step up and do it yourself.” #oscon08
I have amassed enough free t-shirts for the year and I am ready for this break to be over. #oscon08
upon reaching the 12th hour in the office, it’s time to ignore the growing to-do list/inbox/frustration and go play frisbee with the pooch.
Oh yeah … I just remembered. I was called “a dear” today. And it was *not* by someone over the age of 70.
wondering how the audience will react when I’m not there to accept my Google O’Reilly Open Source Award.
came home to a sweet note, two bags of Jelly Bellys, and a bundle of mail labeled “BAD DOG.” Mixed messages, though they all make me smile.
Finally getting to weekend chores. The dog wouldn’t join me in the scary basement for laundry. Took the iPhone (with “PhoneSaber”) instead.
Getting distracted by “Globe Trekker.” They’re in Spain right now. Hopefully I’ll be trekking there myself soon!
Drinks out on the town. Hoping @dieselboi is having a good time at his reunion & @sgreenfield loves la merde.
a little sleepy … but somehow still not really in the mood to sleep.
The 2nd half of the conference turned out to be great … now, as always, the challenge is putting the ideas into action.
Okay Apps store. I’m back.
resisting the urge to go back to the Apps store. Giving myself a “somewhat productive” timeline - and *then* back to the Apps store.
